Wheatland Elementary hosts a pajama day with a cause
Over 300 sets of pajamas were collected through Wheatland Elementary Schools pajama drive in December. This donation will make sure that each person in our care will be warm and cozy all year long. Thank you staff, volunteers and students of Wheatland Elementary for your incredible efforts!


Crowther Memorial Junior High collects toys and gift cards for shelter
The students of Crowther Memorial Junior High School kindly donated a wonderful assortment of toys, gifts and gift cards for shelter residents in December. The students and leadership club members have been assisting at WCS for many years and we look forward to many more years in partnership with them.




Chinook Financial delivers during the holidays
The Strathmore branch of Chinook Financial generously donated diapers, pajamas, socks and underwear to our families in December. Chinook Financial has been a long time supporter of the shelter and WCS is very grateful for their support during the holidays and all year round.





Strathmore Lions Club Supports with Grey Cup raffle proceeds
WCS was the recipient of $700.00 from The Strathmore Lions Club in December 2017. They hosted a Grey Cup raffle in November and donated a portion of the proceeds to WCS. The Strathmore Lions have been an integral part of the Wheatland Crisis Society for many years and we are very grateful for their continued support of our shelter.

Back to Good gives back to shelter
$640.00 was raised in September during our cream cans stay at Back to Good Whole Food Market & Deli. Customers donated their loyalty dollars all month long to support our families. We are thrilled to partner with a business promoting healthy eating habits and lifestyles. The cream can couldn’t get enough of their sumptuous homemade food on their rotating daily menu! Elks Lodge #491 of Strathmore sponsors 25th Anniversary Fall Gala

We are very excited to announce The Elks Lodge #491 of Strathmore has generously purchased our exclusive “SOUL” sponsorship package in support of the 25th Anniversary Fall Gala Celebration & Fundraiser. Murray Chrysler Strathmore revs up sales to raise funds
An astonishing $2265.00 was raised through our Traveling Cream Can Campaign thank to Murray Chrysler Dodge Strathmore in August. They generously donated $5.00 from every oil change and $20.00 from every new and pre owned sale. We are very grateful to be able call Murray Chrysler Dodge a supporter and thrilled that they were able to donate over $2200.00 to our organization. Thank you Murray Chrysler!


Real Deals shows real support in July

Our cream can loved every minute of it’s stay at Real Deals on Home Décor in July. New stock was arriving weekly and the products were so beautiful and eclectic. $265.00 was raised for families impacted by abuse during it’s stay. If you did not get a chance to stop in and see the beautiful display that the owner Di Cozart put together you truly missed out. Patrons of their very successful “Ladies Night Out” played a big part in raising the money for our families. Thank you Real Deals!




Cream Can goes to the dogs for supportPrairie Paws three

Cara Johnson, owner of Prairie Paws Dog Grooming generously donated all proceeds from nail trims for the month of June to support our families. $250.00 was raised through her efforts and The Wheatland Crisis Society was thrilled to have the support of this wonderful local business. A long time supporter, W. Brett Wilson and Family have made a huge difference to our families for the second year in row donating $5000.00 towards a project that enables families impacted by domestic abuse and mistreatment an opportunity to attend events, concerts, recreation centers and other family oriented venues. Mr. Wilson is a Canadian investment banker, businessman, investor, and philanthropist. You may know him from season 3 of CBC Television’s Dragons’ Den where he participated as a panellist. Our staff and our clients are very thankful for this donation and excited about the opportunities that it will provide in 2017.
